Loudoun's 64 public schools offer more than 44,000 students an educational program that ranks with the best in Virginia and the nation. Students' scores on nationally-normed achievement tests and the Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) consistently rank well above state and national averages. Ninety-two percent of graduates continue formal education education in the military, two- or four-year colleges and technical and trade schools.
The fastest growing county in the country, Loudoun continues its proud tradition of support for quality public education to maintain an outstanding record of student achievement despite the pressures of surging enrollment.
LCPS' enrollment is expected to continue increasing annually by over 9 percent with an enrollment of close to 47,000 students expected by the start of the 2005-2006 school year.

Voting Information
All Loudoun County residents ages 18 and older are eligible to vote in county elections. Voters must first register with the General Registrar’s office, which offers year-round voter registration for general, primary, and special elections in conjunction with various public service agencies, military recruitment offices and the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles.
Applications may also be obtained at all Loudoun County public libraries and community centers. Applications may be submitted in person or by mail. The General Registrar's office supplies absentee ballots to eligible voters upon request. A voter registration form is available on the Virginia State Board of Elections website.

Current Loudoun County Tax Rates
Real Property Tax-Regular District 1: $1.04 per $100. Real estate taxes are based on real property assessments and the real property tax rate, which is set annually by the Board of Supervisors. Real estate taxes are collected twice a year in Loudoun County. The due dates are June 5 and December 5.
Personal Property Tax Rate: $4.20 per $100. Loudoun County collects personal property taxes on automobiles, motorcycles, trucks, boats, campers, mobile homes, trailers, and aircraft. Personal property tax is levied each calendar year on all motor vehicles, trailers, campers, mobile homes, boats and airplanes with "situs" in the county. A vehicle has situs for taxation in the county if it is garaged, parked or stored in the county, or if it is registered to a county address with the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles. The assessment on these vehicles is determined by the Commissioner of the Revenue.
